ESTES PARK SCAVENGER HUNT

2013

Hello and thanks for participating in the Estes Park Winter Festival Scavenger Hunt! We have a great variety of merchants participating this year!  Pay special attention to how the clues are written and the wording, and you’ll have an easier time figuring out the scavenger hunt stop locations.  Here’s how it will work:

Pick up a scavenger hunt form at the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau (CVB) or the Downtown Ice Rink on Friday through Monday, or at the Fairgrounds on Saturday and Sunday.  Please note, there is a different hunt for each of the four days of the Winter Festival, and each hunt will take you all over Estes Park so driving may be necessary.

Everyone is welcome to participate all four days!

You will decipher the clues one by one and determine what store location the clue is leading you to.  You will arrive at that store and the person there may ask you to complete a task in the store to receive your store-specific stamp.   Once you have completed the task (if any) the merchant will stamp your clue sheet, and then you will continue on to one of the remaining clues. The stamps do not have to be completed in the order on your sheet.

The Friday scavenger hunt starts at noon, and the Saturday, Sunday and Monday hunts start at 10am.  The hunts are not timed.   Once you have obtained all the stamps, there are three locations with drop-off boxes to turn in your completed scavenger hunt sheet: The Ice Rink downtown on the Southeast corner of Elkhorn Ave. and Riverside Dr., The CVB on Big Thompson Ave., and at the Estes Park Fairgrounds (Sat/Sun only).  The deadline for drop-off of the previous day’s hunt is the next morning before 10am.  Several daily winners will be drawn from among the correctly completed forms.  The winners of the previous day will be announced at the fairgrounds at 11a.m. for pick-up, or the prize can be mailed.  Monday’s winners and the winners of the Grand Prize weekend package will be contacted by email or telephone with the information you provide on your entry form.

Maps can be obtained at the Convention and Visitors Bureau or at many local stores.

Please keep in mind that these shop owners have given time and prizes to provide this scavenger hunt for the festival.  Please be courteous when in their shops, and be mindful of the fact that there may be customers ahead of you in line.  Please wait your turn and allow the shopkeeper to finish transacting business with paying customers.

You can ask anyone for help and in some cases, if you are unfamiliar with Estes Park, asking for help may be necessary.
